Heteronympha merope
There were hundreds of Common Brown Butterflies fluttering amongst the forest trees, frequently landing on tree trunks, low vegetation or the ground.
In the late afternoon they seemed very flighty and the noise of the camera shutter at three metres was enough to disturb them. Early the following morning, perched with wings open to warm up, they were much easier to photograph.
